Asteroseismology of low-mass stars: the balance between partial ionisation and Coulomb interactions

All cool stars with outer convective zones have the potential to exhibit stochastically excited stellar oscillations. In this work, we explore layers of less massive than Sun. particular, computed a set models raging from 0.4 0.9 $M_\odot$ aim at determining impact on oscillations two physical processes occurring in envelopes these stars. Namely, partial ionisation chemical elements and electrostatic interactions between particles layers. We find that alongside ionisation, Coulomb effects also acoustic oscillation spectrum. confirm well-known result as mass star decreases, become relevant. found their increases decreasing mass, for lowest masses ($M \lesssim 0.6 M_\odot$), it is shown dominate over producing strong scatter modes. The influence sound-speed gradient profile produces oscillatory behaviour diagnostic future.
